About

I am ‘Pen Doctor’ Jim, a retired pen fanatic who still loves to do fine mechanics. Originally from the Netherlands, also worked in UK and US and now enjoy my old age in Thailand. I was in the business of building boats, printing magazines, writing and compiling books about old motorbikes and cars, and a few other businesses. All my life I have been affiliated with body building and helping people recovering from sports injuries.

I am typically not the guy who can sit still or watch tv all day. So some years ago I combined a few of my passions and started collecting and repairing vintage fountain pens (at least 40 years old, but most are much older). My father gave me my first fountain pen at a young age and eversince I have been writing with fountain pens all my life, and still use them on a daily basis. My aim is to FULLY restore and totally cleanup every pen. And since I am used to work in a high quality professional evironment, you can expect the result to be in perfect condition and looking at its best.

My passion: I buy many pens and completely ‘renew’ and restore them. It doesn’t matter how long it takes, because that’s what I love to do! But to finance my hobby I also have to sell pens. And that’s where YOU come in. Interested in a pen? Let me know by sending me a message, or simply buy it in this webshop that my son created for me. I’m not really ‘into’ digital technology, I’m more of an old fashioned ‘hands-on’ guy. Have fun choosing the pen(s) that you like and I will make sure you’ll receive it in your home, whereever that may be. Thanks, Pen Doctor Jim.

P.S. I am an honest man who doesn’t want to fool around or swindle anybody. Especially not in my age, where one should only do what you love to do, the time you have left is simply too precious. I personally GUARANTEE that all the pens that I sell are fully working, look good and have no problems whatsoever. All the pictures here are from the actual pen itself. So you get what you see. Also I will make pictures when I send over the pen as proof. If you find any problem with my pen after receiving it, you can show it to me with pictures or a simple video. If it is not caused by transport damage, I will give you a pen of the same value for FREE.

Happy doing my thing…. ‘pen doctor’ is the name my wife came up with. She sees me working daily with surgical precision, so I guess she’s right, hahahaha! When my collection got in the hundreds, my son proposed to make a website for me, to sell a few pens. I guess they think I have too many, but a collector never has enough,
now does he?
